In addition to IntelliConnect's powerful search functionality, you also have the ability to set more specific advanced search options. You can apply a thesaurus to your search, look up the synonyms of search terms, limit your search to specific jurisdictions or courts, and search according to a specific set of dates.
TIP! After you enter your search terms and set your advanced search options, you can run the search directly from the "Advanced Search" box by clicking the Search Now button.
Click the Advanced Search link.
The "Advanced Search" box is displayed.
Click in the checkbox next to Apply Thesaurus.
Click Apply Changes to save your changes, close the "Advanced Search" box, and return to your research.
Each time you perform a search, the thesaurus is applied to determine your search results.
Note: The thesaurus will continue to be applied to all subsequent searches until you deselect the "Apply Thesaurus" checkbox on the "Advanced Search" box.
Click the Advanced Search link.
The "Advanced Search" box is displayed.
Type the term for which you want to find synonyms in the "Synonym Lookup" field.
Click the View Synonyms button.
Terms that are synonyms of the term you typed in the "Synonym Lookup" field display.
Note: Repeat the steps above to look up synonyms for additional terms.
Click the Advanced Search link to close the "Advanced Search" box and return to your research.
Click the Advanced Search link.
The "Advanced Search" box is displayed.
Click the select link to the right of the "Jurisdictions" heading.

Click the select link to the right of the "Courts" heading.
Click in the checkboxes next to the jurisdictions or courts you want to target with your search and click OK.
Click Apply Changes to save your changes, close the "Advanced Search" box, and return to your research.
"Search Limits Applied" text (and an associated icon) is displayed to the right of the "Search Expression" field, showing you advanced search options have been applied to subsequent searches. The next time you perform a search, only the jurisdictions or courts you selected are targeted.
Click the Advanced Search link.
The "Advanced Search" box is displayed.
Click in the checkbox next to Apply these search limits to future searches until I log out.
Your search limit settings stay in effect until you log off of IntelliConnect.
Click the Advanced Search link.
The "Advanced Search" box is displayed.
Click the Clear Search Limits button.
All search limit settings are cleared.
Click the Search Options link.
The "Search Options" box is displayed
Click the "Date Selection" drop-down menu (located in the "Search By Date" section) and select an option for the dates you plan to enter: On, Before, After, or From/To.
After you select an option other than the default "Any Day" selection, one or both sets of the date selection fields become active.
In the first set of date selection fields, click the "Month" drop-down menu and select the month, and then type the date and year in the spaces provided using dd and yyyy format.
If you selected "From/To" in the "Date Selection" drop-down menu, the second set of date selection fields is active. Repeat the process of selecting a month, day, and year as you did for the first set of date selection fields.
Click the Apply Changes button to save your changes and close the "Search Options" box.
"Search Limits Applied" text (and an associated icon) is displayed to the right of the "Search Expression" field, showing you advanced search options have been applied to subsequent searches.
Click the Date restriction applied icon.
The "Date Restriction Applied" dialog box is displayed.
Click Yes to confirm you want to remove the date restriction.
The date restriction is removed, and the "Date restriction applied" icon no longer appears to the right of the "Search Expression" field.
