While performing a search with IntelliConnect, you can use the online thesaurus to include terms in your search that are related to your search expression.
Note: The thesaurus search option setting is selected by default.
Click the Advanced Search link.
The "Advanced Search" box is displayed.
Click in the checkbox next to Apply Thesaurus.
Click the Apply Changes button to save your changes and close the "Advanced Search" box.
Type your search term(s) in the "Search Expression" field.
Note: If your search expression includes 10 or more words, IntelliConnect automatically turns off the thesaurus to speed up the search process.
Click Go.
Your search results are displayed on a new tab in the "Search Results" pane. In addition to returning results based on the search expression you entered, IntelliConnect also returns results based on applying the online thesaurus.
TIP! Although your search results include terms related to your search term, it does not include plural versions of the related terms. In other words, if car is your search term, auto but not autos is included in the list of related terms.
Note: By default, your search results are sorted according to the relevance of the documents in relation to the search term(s) you used to perform the search.
Click the Advanced Search link.
The "Advanced Search" box is displayed.
Clear the checkbox next to Apply Thesaurus.
Click the Apply Changes button to save your changes and close the "Advanced Search" box.
The thesaurus is no longer applied to your searches.
